Ironman® Wisconsin Enhancer Weekend Workouts - Summer 2012

Technical.   Challenging.   Scary.   Mentally tough.   Specific.
Time consuming.    Practice.   Long day.   Prepare.

You may be one of those athletes at this very moment trying to get your head wrapped around Ironman Wisconsin. Successful completion of an event of this distance takes diligent planning, preparation and tactic.  Each and every one of you are training  on a schedule and getting your body ready for the race. However, are you planning your tactic? How about nutrition strategy? How will you ride the course? Where will you position yourself in the swim segment? With so many parts to manage  it can be overwhelming to figure out on your own, especially when it is your first time.

To help enhance your training for Ironman™ Wisconsin, SBR Coaches will help you prepare for complete success of your day! For 11 weekends, starting in June, professional, degreed, experienced, certified coaches will provide structured and coached group training practices with specific focus and goals. 

The Sunday training practice is an additive to your weekly training schedule and will help you apply your training specifically to the Ironman Wisconsin course .  Topics to be covered are, and not exclusive to:

  • Technical breakdown of each discipline
  • Course specific education and planning
  • Nutrition planning
  • Race strategy
  • Swim course logistics
  • Handling chaos in the swim segment
  • Race week preparation
  • Transition breakdown

Each training practice will have a minimum of 2 coaches on site coaching, leading, educating and providing specific,  individual feedback to each athlete. Maximum athletes per weekend will be capped at 25 to keep a great athlete to coach ratio. SBR Coaches’ goal is not to train with you, but to coach for you. These weekends should be considered supplemental to your own training program. No weekly training program will be provided.

Pre-requisite –

Ironman™ Wisconsin registration confirmation
Swim 1.5 miles
Bike 60 miles
Run/walk 13 miles

Training weekends available –

                        June 3, 10, 17, 24
                        July 1, 8, 29 (no training on the 15 and 22 due to half Ironman races occurring)
                        August 5, 12, 19, 26

Times and duration –

Each training practice will be 4 hours in duration. For weekends in June, practices start at 8am, for July and August practices start at 7am.

Costs –

            1 –day             $60

            5-day package $275

            11-day package $550

Notice:  Registration will close the Wednesday before each weekend training session. Purchase all 11 days and you are guaranteed a spot for each weekend.
