We're Moving

SBR is changing it's destination! Over the next few months, SBR will be moving it's facility a quick jog three blocks away from it's current location. SBR's new location will be at 403 Venture Ct (at the intersection of Paoli St/Hwy 69). Starting June 1, the physical doors of SBR on Main St will not be open, however all coaching, consulting and training will still occur for the summer full-time. Beginning end of October, the new SBR destination will be ready on Venture Ct.

The perks? Private room for consulting and physiological testing, and a locker room with showers! Stay tuned for details as they are completed!

Power-Based Cycling
Biking Event - Learn how SBR Coaching & Training Center can help!    

With more and more cyclists using power as a means to train and improve their cycling abilities, the need has clearly developed for power-based training programs to coincide with heart rate monitor training. To help meet this demand, SBR Coaching is offering a Power-Based Cycling (PBC) course this winter.  This unique power class will run upon fundamental principles of exercise physiology.  Cycling Peaks (Training Peaks WKO+) has set forth great guidelines for training with power that is created on power-based training in both laboratory and field settings. 

You will learn and use such things as lactate threshold (LT), LT power, HR-power zones and guidelines, normalized power, intensity factors, and training stress scores.  Lots of physiology! Lots of learning! This class is for the athlete that is prepared to take the next step with their training, and spend quality time learning about his/her body through the physiological parameters above.  This is a fully coached course led by Jessica Laufenberg, MA, CSCS, USAT.

The course will meet two sessions per week on the dates below. You will have an AM option or a PM option.  The classes will require you to use your own bike.  You will be utilizing the CompuTrainer system for all training in the course.  The CompuTrainer is a fully equipped system with over 300 courses, full data displays (for such things as power, heart rate, speed), and saving workouts.

Registration is open and limited to six athletes per session. Choose PBC AM or PBC PM option.

Classes start the week of November 17, 2009 and continue through the week of March 30, 2009. (Note there are no classes the week of December 22, 2008 and February 9, 2009).

PBC AM                     Tuesday and Friday 5:30am-6:30am

PBC PM                     Monday and Thursdays 5:45pm-6:45pm
