Open Water Swimming

SBR is in its 4th season of open water swimming!
Each training sessions will have a specific focus. The coach will ensure a proper workout based on what your season goals are. During each session, the coach will take you through a specific training session, or assist you in executing the prescribed workout you bring.
The coaches at SBR believe in providing knowledge, motivation, confidence and support for athletes who want to improve his/her athletic abilities. SBR believes in taking the team approach to coaching and training to provide you with the best experience, training and education in the Madison area.
Each practice is coach led and are there to:
Educate on safety in open water
Develop swim technique for efficiency
Teach proper mechanics for injury-free swimming
each navigation in open water
Teach entry and exits for open water racing
Teach race tactics (such as drafting, pacing and
safety in racing)
Teach race preparation and racing tactics
Train the mind for open water (motivation and relaxation
for the water)
Assist in proper open water equipment for training and
racing
Have FUN!!!

PBR Program for FULL MARATHON

Join SBR Coaching & Training Center in a unique PBR (Personal Best Running) training program designed specifically for finishing your personal best this fall. The goal of this unique program is to lead, guide, coach and motivate runners to a personal best marathon race time at the Lakefront Marathon, October 3, 2010.
The training program is heavily coached and has a moderately aggressive approach to achieving your personal best. The program will educate you on proper running form, biomechanics, training, nutrition, mental toughness and more!
Jessica Laufenberg at SBR Coaching will be working with you weekly to help you accomplish your goals. You will have the companionship of others reaching for similar goals, as well as guided practices that specifically focus on the goal at hand.
New for this year, the program will kick off with a 2-3 hour mini-FASTER (Form And Specificity To Efficient Running) Program that will help build you up the 6 weeks leading up to the first day of practices. This session also includes video run analysis.

Destination Marathon - Florence, Italy, November 2010

SBR Coaching invites you to spend your November, 2010 holiday with us in Florence, Italy to experience the 27th Annual Marathon. Enjoy the architecture, culture, history, wine, food and scenery of the Florence area!
SBR is creating a group package to visit and race in Italy. SBR has reserved a 10 bedroom villa to sleep up to 20 (combination of twin and queen beds). When you confirm a spot, you can request a single bed, or to share a bed. The villa is reserved for 10 days—Thursday, November 25,
2010 through Saturday, December 4, 2010.
